Volunteers of America
Volunteers of America believes that every child deserves a safe and loving home.   The Reilly Center for Children and Families  provides services to children and youth who have been removed from their home due to abuse and neglect as well as programs which place children in loving homes.

Keeping children safe and providing the treatment they need is essential. Parker House and Baton Rouge Youth are residential treatment facilities designed specifically for those purposes.

Volunteers of America's Family Resource Center provides a continuum of services to support and strengthen foster, adopt and kinship families.

The Oaks Kiwanis Club members visit the Parker House the 1st Tuesday of every month. The members bring dinner to the children and interact with them.

How CASA Helps Children…

The Mission of Louisiana CASA Association is to support local programs in their efforts to ensure that abused and neglected children in the Louisiana legal system have a competent and caring volunteer advocate through quality, local CASA programs.

The heart of our program is the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), a specially trained and supervised community volunteer, appointed by a Judge. CASAs help to secure safe and permanent homes for abused and neglected children by investigating and monitoring cases involving children in foster care.

CASA volunteers are men and women who want to help the children in their community. They come from all walks of life…have a variety of backgrounds… young and old…working and retired…are all volunteers...and they all have the same desire…to make a difference in the life of an abused or neglected child.

The Oaks Kiwanis Club collects new and wrapped Christmas presents at it's annual Christmas Party to donate to CASA.
